So here is a question for everyone...there are a lot of Go Fund Me requests floating out there and a friend has thrown out the idea of starting one to help with spay/neuter costs for barn kitties. Honestly, I like the idea myself. As most of us with barns can attest, all too often irresponsible people decide that every place with horses or livestock require cats and just one more cant hurt. We end up with an abundance of kitties at the barns. I dont know about you, but I sure cannot afford to fix them all at $200+ (last cat, it was a male cost this much to neuter so I bet spaying is even more). The other unfortunate thing about a lot of barn kitties is that their lifespan is short...again, we spent $200 and the cat was killed within a month. It is costing us between $60 and $80 a month just to feed them. Anyway, just wondering if this is something that could work in your opinions. Of course distribution of funds would have to be worked out and be well planned and documented. It is also not meant to be any kind of rescue/adoption organization. Just a way to curb the cat population. Feedback please.
