So here is one Heritage Weekend memory. Back in either 2005 or 2006, during the Hot Air Balloon race I was at my parents house watching them. Over Ball Diamond Hill Rd, the Dairy Queen balloon was not too far above the trees which I thought was weird considering the others were very high up. As it came over the trees it kept getting lower and I seriously thought that it was going to land in the electrical lines. Needless to say, it landed in my parents yard below the driveway. A neighbor whose child was having a birthday party came over and all of the kiddos, including my nephew who was only two or three, helped pat down the balloon as it diminished. The trailer and driver showed up later to pick up the crew and balloon. Great memory!
