So here is the latest on Mike Lassley. As you may know he was released from Kaiser Sunset LA on Friday. We were told by the Transplant Coordinator that his case was going to be heard again on Tuesday (tomorrow) At that point they would decide if he would be able to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida for his liver transplant. If so, his records would be sent to Mayo for review. If Mayo accepted him we could technically be on a plane in about 4-5 weeks. If Mayo doesnt accept him then Kaiser would send his records to Tennessee or Alabama for review. All of that is still up in the air. If the committee decides he is not a candidate for Mayo, then he could have his transplant at UCLA. The criteria for transplant in California is a MELD Score (Model for Endstage Liver Disease) is 38 to 40. Since it only goes from 6 to 40, being at 38 is very high and risky. The criteria for Florida, Tennessee or Alabama is only 25. When he was released from the hospital on Friday he was a 30. Please pray for an amazing outcome. Whatever God intends that to be.
