Seller Myth #10 "All agents are a bunch of lying cheats who don’t have an ethical bone in their body” Pretty heavy comment and sadly there are elements of truth to this statement for many agents. I am appalled at some of the stories I hear about agents and appalled at some of the things I notice agents do to get your business then underperform on taking your property to the market. AND then have to sell your property at any price just to get paid. Happily this is not true for us - we pride ourselves on generating business from referrals and people who we deal with quite outside of real estate. I operate from the premise if I take care of my clients’ needs and hold their best interests at heart then the task is not only more pleasing (and I’m able to sleep at night) but the results speak for themselves with many happy clients who are willing to testify to the fact. This might sound a little corny but in reality any successful business owner is acutely aware that by not holding their clients’ best interest at heart at all times they will, in the long run, undo themselves. The truth is that many do act out of sheer desperation to feed their families rather than stick with high integrity and moral principles of doing the right thing all the time for the right reasons – that is what underpins ethics.
