So here we are, as John Lennon said So this is Christmas and another year ends Well, this year, being used to buying locally in markets in Turkey and having listened to Jules Serkin on her wonderful superior show Scoff Quaff on Channel Radio we decided to follow her example at the start of 2014 and buy as much food as we can from local providers. This Christmas for example, Meat from Court Farm in Halling, Fruit and Veg from Riverford Organics and Aylesford farmers Market and from the wonderful Frankies Farmshop near Staplehurst, local Cheeses, Sparkling and still wines - Bio- dynamic ( Sedlescombe Organic Vinyard) star shortbread, chocolate brownies and theeee most amazing Sea Salted Caramel Spread and finally their amazing bread baked on the premises by Claire. So, in 2015, please, if you havent already, call into Frankies Farmshop, the food is brilliant and so are the wines and secondly, please think about spending 10/20% of your weekly food spend on locally produced food. We could between us put £millions into local businesses of Kent and reduce the profits of the supermarkets - even more. Wishing you all well over the festive season and lets support our local producers in 2015.
