So heres my thoughts on this: When you practice Chains like this (very popular in BJJ too), you teach yourself to react in a flowing pattern. Sure, when youre on the mat, you arent going to go through a choreographed sequence like this, but you will teach your muscle memory to move in a more dynamic way. Take for instance how they move, counter move, go to the ground, move, counter move and work to finish on the ground. In a way, it is very akin to Maximum Efficiency, Minimum Effort. Where have I heard that before?:
