So, heres something else people need to know... when you first increase your water intake (which we highly recommend when you are taking Plexus products), you might not see kilos lost on the scale and heres why: (from Bob Greene - Oprahs personal trainer) Your body has the ability to store a lot of extra water, especially when you drink a lot of it...prepare for significant gains in your water weight...In the first 4 or 5 weeks, the increase in your water weight will probably hide the fact that you are losing FAT. Please dont be frustrated. Be Patient. When you say you want to lose weight, what you really mean is that you want to lose fat. For the record, Bob doesnt allow his clients to weigh on the scale AT ALL for the first 4-6 weeks of starting his program. More info that might help you understand weight gain with increased water intake: As you become more active and drink more water, your muscles will act like sponges and will immediately become more fully hydrated. In addition, you may add a little new muscle (and a lot of plexus people are adding in exercise because they feel better and have more energy - yay!) which in turn will even store more water. The more active you are, the more glycogen ( a stored carbohydrate) your muscles will retain - each gram of glycogen stores an additional 2.5-3 grams of water. Finally, the better shape youre in, the more water is stored in your bloodstream. This additional water weight gain can be significant and is most pronounced when you increase your level of fitness. This explains how a very fit person can weigh much more than their appearance would suggest. Oh, and keep reading, Dont let this additional water weight frustrate you! It means that your metabolism is increasing as well as your potential to burn fat. Now, I realize that not all of us are exercising, but most are drinking considerable more water - and most state that they have way more energy so even if they are not purposefully exercising, they most likely are moving way more!!! Anyways, DRINK WATER! Stay away from the scale for awhile - go by how you FEEL and how your clothes feel!
