So heres the deal... This wouldnt happen to me and I know it wouldnt happen to me because Im white. I didnt do anything special to be white and yet I enjoy the privilege of doing things like waiting in a public place to pick my kid up from school without being accused of suspicious behavior. My behavior isnt suspicious because I have white skin. White people: ***WE*** need to be the ones to say over and over and over and over and over again TO OTHER WHITE PEOPLE that racial inequality is wrong. You know it is. Say it. A lot. Its not the responsibility of people of color to stop being oppressed by society. Its OUR responsibility to call out oppressive behavior as wrong. White people need to change it. Dont be afraid to say it. Dont be afraid to defend what is right. Dont be afraid that you will say the wrong thing. Dont be afraid that you will offend anyone. Things need to change.
