So.....heres what we know. We didnt update until now because we needed to tell family first. CT and MRI show a mass in and around one of Daltons left ribs. This mass was not there when he had his last CT. Dr. O has pretty much ruled out infection...but MAY be a possibility. So that leaves us with 2 other possibilities. 1 - PTLD post transplant lymphoma disease or 2 - HCC relapse. Of the two listed....neither is ok. Now both will be treated aggressively with chemo but PTLD will not have radiation (or very little) whereas HCC relapse will have higher doses of radiation and chemo. He has a PET scan scheduled for tomorrow and a biopsy scheduled for Thursday. Friday we should have a plan in place and ready to start treatment. I cant express to you how much my heart is hurting. I honestly think my heart stopped when Dr. O walked through the door. He just had that look on his face. All that being said.....please pray for Dalton. Pray for his strength. He continues to have the most positive outlook and I know that will continue to keep him on the right path to recovery. He continues to inspire me everyday. God has a plan. Big plan for Dalton.
