So, i am thankful to God for giving me the wisdom to recognize - TopicsExpress

So, i am thankful to God for giving me the wisdom to recognize when something in my body, well face in the case, is about to go very ugly and toxic. I realized with the rapid acceleration/spreading of the redness, stinging, and itching starting with where i had originally had a spider bite in May on my eyelid, that kept itching again every couple of weeks or days even after the bite itself had healed. (i am very, very allergic to spider and ant bites and can even have an anaphylactic response, in the past, i have had bites that, like this one, can itch for weeks and months after because the allergic reaction is just that bad. I have had many spider and ant bites, even though i dont get outside very much, i must be, like, gourmet, exquisite nom noms lol) So.. what happened is this: It got itchy this week, i scratched it as gently as i could, but, the eyelid is a thin kinda flesh and it opened up again. Despite me being SO diligent about washing my hands, and face, because, I have had cellulitis 4 times before and it was horrid, i got a bacteria, staph or strep usually, and BOOM, cellulitis in my eye and face. Why did i go to the extreme of the ER instead of waiting til Monday to just go see my doc? Because, in 2009 I got a small cut in my leg, a scrape really, nothing big,and i got bacteria in it....a very aggressive one. It took only a few days for me to develop an infection, cellulitis, so vicious, i ended up with a hole in my leg, 5 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. I also had it 2 other times that became the size of a grapefruit and an orange in the matter of days, and once in my entire leg, foot and toe from where i had dropped a glass bottle of flavored oil on my toe, they drilled a hole in it to release pressure, and something got in that tiny hole. So... i recognized what was happening, it went from just a small rash on my eyelid to spreading infection in my eyelid, actual eye, my forehead, and down my cheek in the matter of a few hours. I should have made sure i got to my appointment today, but, things got complicated.... ugh. Got antibiotics now, just hoping it is not like my leg was and resistant to them. Because, with my leg, i was on antibiotics and the size of the infection tripled, from where it had started. That was so scary and a horror because, i had just had my knee replaced, and infection in your knee could lead to amputation! and the cellulitis was spreading through out my leg, as well as the area being eaten away...It is never a pleasant thing to look down at your leg and see a gaping hole! So... thinking it could happen in my eye??? Its better to go to the Er and look hyperbolic. I am not playing with bacterial infections at all but, especially not my eye, i mean my vision was blurry!!! Guh,, ok rant over... lol
