So i broke some spokes on one of my wheelchair wheels and put a slight curve in the rim. I went to the wheelchair shop where i could use my insurance to pay for the repairs. I found out i had to see a doctor, get a prescription, bring the prescription back to the wheelchair shop, at which time they would order any needed parts upon prescription approval, then i would have to return to the shop drop off my wheelchair for a couple of days and i guess walk in the interim (?), since its obviously an option and all, return to the wheelchair shop and pick up my chair and pay 20% of the repair cost at a place that charges medicare $60 per tire (yes, TIRE) plus installation plus the doctor visit co-pay plus gas driving 30 miles each way in a van that gets 12 mpgs! So, i went to the bike shop. It cost $25.61 and i was in/out in 15 minutes, installed, both rims trued. Saved me at least $50, saved tax payers at least $100! BTW, the bike shop charges $18 per tire, same brand, size and part number. Talk about the fleecing of America!!
