So, if you have a little dog, you will have to modify the choking dog maneuver. Gus, our little yorkie, choked on a sausage, Jon!!!! I couldnt feel it because sausage and throats feel the same.?!?.( who knew?) So I picked him up and lay him on his side on one hand and struck open handed over his rib cage, with my other hand. It took three very hard blows but the sausage flew out of his mouth. I dont think I have ever been more frightened dealing with our dogs than then. On the same subject, yorkies dont get people food, and sausage is a never, never, never!
