So, in Kings Karate class his teacher also Occupational Therapist explained the need for our kids to have sensory input (swinging swimming jumping etc) In order to stay focused, follow directions and be obedient. I always seen this in kids but never put it together. So I did some research and found the following information: Believe it or not, bouncing is one of the best sensory integration exercises to help the brain. Kids can use bouncing the same way they use balls for homeschooling -- timed to math facts, while reciting items to memorize, and so on. Of course, they can also just use it for fun and good health. Not only is bouncing great exercise, but it also stimulates the lymphatic system and helps the body fight illness. When your child is finished bouncing, thats the perfect time to introduce new concepts, incidentally. Activities like bouncing, rocking and shifting the body stimulate areas of the brain that improve concentration and attention for up to two hours afterwards. examiner/list/sensory-integration-tricks-to-help-kids-focus-from-pre-k-through-high-school
