So, in an administrative snafu at City College, one of my speech classes was cancelled. However, the head of the department was kind enough to offer me, very last minute, an Intro to Theater class (some majors, but a lot of non-majors taking it as a creative expression elective). So what does a good teacher do? Says Hell yes! and then jumps off the bridge! I havent taken a theater class myself in about ten years but I do incorporate acting and improv in my cabaret classes, for sure. Now I have to weave in some theater history, scenes, etc. And I have a week to pull this 14-week class together! Wee! So, just for the heck of it, all my theater friends, tell me in a sentence or less: What does every 19-year-old college kid need to know about theater? GO! (And perhaps I can get one of you to come in and be a guest star--no pay, but exposure, lol.)
