So, in discussion with my man yesterday about the Larp community - TopicsExpress

So, in discussion with my man yesterday about the Larp community and respect, both online and in face to face contact, I’d like to pose some questions here. That sad thing was, at first I was hesitant to pose a single question. Why? Because when I’ve done so before on Larp online communities (even on matters as simple as a query on game mechanics or the rules), I have always had some very negative and sometimes downright disrespectful replies, which has since made me leave said communities,. Compared to all the other online communities out there that I am a part of, I’ve never been afraid to ask a question before. This made me pause, and go “hmm…” So, my question for all my Larp friends out there – do you think this is a growing trend in the online Larping community? Or is it a result of the online community in general? A lack of face to face contact? That it is often forgotten, or ignored, that another person is at the end of the line, so to speak? That people may have differing opinions, but an attitude of civility and respect should and could be maintained? That someone with a differing opinion should not be silenced, disrespectfully or not, simply because their interests are not your own? What do you think?
