So in summary from last nights discussion about what is missing in our village I have (without naming chains)........ Gift shop, that sells different items to the current gifts you can buy in all the venues that sell gifts in the village, (of which there are loads, I started to list them but knew Id forget some and start a war). Fishmonger - but if you want fish you can order it next day from the butchers Good equipped gym, (and youth club), which Project Body UK are in the process of bringing to us at the young peoples centre on the green, watch this space Somewhere that sells decent baby items, cosmetics and cheap photo printing - I wonder if the chemist can add lines to their range? It does seem to be more geared for the elderly and pets than babies. McDonalds - theres one going to be built in Clifton Craft shop to showcase local peoples work Regular farmers market Annual scarecrow festival Bakery Deli Bookshop NHS dentist Fine wine shop Clothes boutique Kids clothes shop A leisure centre/swimming pool Health food shop A singles bar AND Helen Greasby and Lisa Mace - (and tbh Im happy to campain for these). Plus, and Im not sure I could see anyone pitching these to the Parish council.... A hotel for Mums to escape too - good luck with that one Sam Cawkwell A brothel - could the hotel be a cover up for the brothel? Kill 2 birds with one stone ;-)
