So in the film Blade Runner, the basic premise is that emigrants to Mars received androids so sophisticated it was impossible to tell them from true men or women. Fearful of the havoc these artificial humans could wreak, the government banned them from Earth. But when androids didnt want to be identified, theyd just blend in. So bounty hunters called Blade Runners had to be created to snuff them out and then snuff them out or retire them. Heres my questions. Why werent these replicants banned from Mars also? Whats happening on Mars? Is it a total bloodbath or what? Youd think it would have to be right? Otherwise what are we even doing here? I suspect Ill know more or have more questions after reading the book, but the film did not help me with these questions. To be continued.
