So instead of wearing a t-shirt, wristband, or even taking pictures of my breast out in honer of Breast Cancer awareness month Ill leave you with this. Learn as much information on Breast Cancer as you can. There is nothing wrong with learning something new or old. Dont be that person who feels like they are important or helpful by snapping pics of their chest or wearing a piece of clothing. Learn Something and try Doing Something. As much as I would love to donate to charities about cancer research I just dont have any money which is pretty damn upsetting. I know Im not the best person when it comes to raising awareness but please take the time to learn about it and actually try helping. Some warning signs of breast cancer are— -New lump in the breast or underarm (armpit). -Thickening or swelling of part of the breast. -Irritation or dimpling of breast skin. -Redness or flaky skin in the nipple area or the breast. -Pulling in of the nipple or pain in the nipple area. -Nipple discharge other than breast milk, including blood. -Any change in the size or the shape of the breast. -Pain in any area of the breast. Keep in mind that some of these warning signs can happen with other conditions that are not cancer. If you have any signs that worry you, be sure to see your doctor right away. Source to the information above- cdc.gov/cancer/breast/basic_info/index.htm A risk factor is anything that affects your chance of getting a disease, such as cancer. Different cancers have different risk factors. For example, exposing skin to strong sunlight is a risk factor for skin cancer. Smoking is a risk factor for cancers of the lung, mouth, larynx (voice box), bladder, kidney, and several other organs. But risk factors dont tell us everything. Having a risk factor, or even several, does not mean that you will get the disease. Most women who have one or more breast cancer risk factors never develop the disease, while many women with breast cancer have no apparent risk factors (other than being a woman and growing older). Even when a woman with risk factors develops breast cancer, it is hard to know just how much these factors might have contributed. Some risk factors, like a persons age or race, cant be changed. Others are linked to cancer-causing factors in the environment. Still others are related to personal behaviors, such as smoking, drinking, and diet. Some factors influence risk more than others, and your risk for breast cancer can change over time, due to factors such as aging or lifestyle.
