So it appears that Rick and I have been challenged by Mike Muller for the ice bucket challenge. Weve still got some time to complete it ;) but does everyone know what this ALS is. Its a continous death of motor neuron which then the muscles no longer function then deteriorate to nothing...causing the ALS victim to become paralyzed/unable to move, unable to swallow to eat on their own, and unable to breathe properly. There are approximately 30,000 people have the disease at any given time. alsa.org/about-als/what-is-als.htm Tho Im not affected by this, nor do I personally know anyone, I would like to challenge everyone to understand the situation and possibly become aware of the other health situations that maybe even closer to home than you realize. Ive been infected with Lyme disease (300,000 people become infected with it yearly) and I was thankfully treated early (tho I believe my health issues since are related to the infection). I have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism (which my main symptoms are tiredness/fatigue, acne, headaches, and depression). Then dealing with Neuralgia, constant light headache then extreme migraine type feeling, but its more than just a migraine. My issues are minor in comparison to some but major to others, Im on the borderline to be sympathetic to those that are worse off and the other side of suffering while I try to help bring the awareness so others wont have to experience the pain. Do your #IceBucketChallenge but learn and become aware!
