The closest I ever came was heading to DC in the late seventies, almost penniless and absolutely jobless, to start a new life and adventure. That worked out well and unveiled a new career, a wife, and daughter. My life. From time to time the traveling bug has nibbled at me to hop in a car and see whats around the next bend. This may not be the big adventure but its whats in front of me, so Ill take it. My longtime friend, Willie, has decided to forgo the cold winters and high taxes of Fairfax County for a haven in Cape Coral, Florida. I offered to drive his second car to his new home and he accepted. I envision the possibility of seeing my sisters, Jacki Clark Bosco and Cindy Clark in northern Georgia. After that I plan to stop in Perry, Florida to see the nursery owned by my friend, Diane Vallella Whitfield and her husband, Abe. It gets a little fuzzy after that. Depending upon how the weather has affected my travel time, I will either stop near Ocala and visited my friend George or head directly down the west coast to bring cookies to my healing friend, Phyllis Hood Beck and her husband, Bill. From there, Ill drive to Cape Coral, drop off Willies car and catch a flight from Ft. Myers back to DC. All of this is supposed to happen either the 2nd or 3rd week of December. The plan is now out there to be analyzed. Once again, I have invited myself to drop in announced. If anyone would prefer that I not put you in my itinerary simply comment, not so fast there, buddy, I will understand. Let me know. Im still waiting for a firm date from Willie before I can finalize my plan.
