So it seems that a couple of the usual suspects have started spewing the same old nonsense about not liking if it is pointed out in as simple terms as possible that they are talking out of their butts when spewing the usual nonsense about saving cars that are too far gone. They also apparantly dont like it when we state facts about condition of cars, the effort required to correctly restore a car, the reality of what it will take to repair rust on a given car, what is correct on a model year based on real life experience of real cars we are actually working on, what works best with a given setup, etc, etc. My approach is to try to be as factual and accurate as possible in everything we do and post and if someone posts something that is incorrect to politely but firmly correct any misinformaiton that has been posted here or another page I am a member of. Contrary to some of the nonsense recently posted, this is not about ego, arrogance or any other put down rather it is about posting correct information and eliminating some of the decades old urban legend that has been around for so long that it is considered correct when in fact it is not. At AZ AMC Restorations and Parts, we currenly have 5 AMXs, 2 SC/Ramblers, one early and one late Javelin, a 69 390 SST Ambo and a 67 Ambo Wagon under construction. In the past we have had a 73 or 74 Gremlin, a 67 Rebel and mulitple mid to late 60s Americans/Rogues, a couple of Jeeps and many more Javelins and AMXs of all years torn apart and put back together. We also rebuild AMC engines from mild to wild including making the misunderstood and often needlessly maligned cross ram run great on the street, rebuild AMC transmissions, rear ends, brake systems and suspension all in addition to the normal exterior and interior restoration work. If there is another AMC restoration or repair shop in existence that does all that we do and as much AMC work as we do I am unaware of it. We try to make AMC cars the best they can possibly be and even more importantly strive to mak them better than cars from all other brands regardless of how much somoene may have spent on a different brand car. Our cars are frequently best in show winners and provide their owners trouble free driving of great AMC cars. If sharing our experiences and attempting to correct the seemingly endless supply of misinformation frequetly posted on the net is misconstrued as ego or arrogance, so be it.
