So, it was a week Saturday that I have Lily Dog as were calling her. She is just a darling dog and is fitting in so nicely. She is so very smart and learning quickly how to behave with her two new besties!!! These photos were taken when we went to the Saugerties Lighthouse which is on the Hudson River. The dogs had a blast and Lily Dog is a really good listener and comes when called. I felt secure to let her run offleash with the others and she did not disappoint me in the least. She loves, loves, LOVES her ball and food - not sure which more! My boy, Sugar, the big brown bundle of love, loves his food, too, but not with the gusto that Lily Dog does! I decided to take Lily Dog on a mommy and me date this past Saturday. We went into the town of Woodstock and she was just simply lovely. She walks nicely on leash, very little pulling, she mingles with crowds without a care in the world. She is a very secure little girl - my Princesse was a bit nervous in her youth but I was sure to expose her to many different things that she quickly became accustomed to all sorts of situations. Its nice to see Lily Dog in all types of environments since her former guardians gave her up since they were concerned she would become aggressive. I have yet to see one instance of it. I thought I did at a local store yesterday when I went in with her and a six-foot plus gentleman working there came over to greet Lily Dog. She immediately barked at him and it caused me concern. He clearly was a dog person as he said, Look, Im six-foot plus so of course shes a little concerned at first. He quickly got down to her level and she was all mushed up into him, allowing him to pet her all over!!!! Yahoo, Lily Dog!!!! She is so lovely and even Princesse is warming up to her!!! She knows now to go in her crate and lay down until I call her to eat so I can feed the other two without her underfoot as she cant WAIT to get at the bowls of food! She also knows when treats are distributed to lay down and wait until I give the other two theirs and she then gets hers. Poor thing drools repeatedly until she finally gets her food/treats!!! But, heck, shes a quick learner and realizes that eventually she gets a goodie!!! Love this girl heaps and heaps. Just need to work a little more on the jumping first thing in the a.m. I keep forgetting to have a leash on her to snap her back down so Im at fault...tomorrow Im going to be ready!!! =) Enjoy the photos!!!
