So, it was brought to my attention last night that I havent posted an update lately. I would like to, cautiously, report that I am on the road back to normal (okay, okay, I know Im not ever really normal. ;) But as normal as I ever was.) after nearly four very long months. After surgery #2 in the beginning of August, I still didnt feel like I was healing up the way I should; was still in constant pain. We did an ultrasound on 8/29 that showed more stones and ureter dilation, but the doc wasnt sure about the measurement of the large stone (7.5mm), so he ordered a CT Scan for the next week. 9/2 I was in so much pain at work that it made me physically sick, and they sent me home. 9/5 the CT scan showed all clear! So, the only thing I can figure is that I must have passed the remaining stones on 9/2, which is why the pain was so very bad that day. Since then, it has been slowly getting better. Im still not 100%, but getting closer every day, with the exception of a small setback this past weekend when I passed more small fragments. I am also VERY happy that after months of having to take narcotic pain meds daily, if not round the clock, I have been done with them for over a week now (again, with the exception of this past weekend when I was still up in major pain at 4am). We are still running some tests and will continue to follow up, but hopefully its over. We will run another test in one month, four months, and then do another xray in six months to make sure there are no more stones growing in that time.
