So it will finally be told, I am proud to introduce my dedication through a source of musical inspiration, the story of Sybil Dorsett.. When first baring witness to this tragic yet strangely familiar realm of trauma as a result from years of prior conditioning in the worst most extreme form of abuse that could be inflicted imaginable, I could not help but feel a strong connection for this survivor whom to many and perhaps even all was horribly misunderstood.. with one exception not only in the form of a dedicated Doctor, but friend, the wonderfully loving and caring Cornelia B. Wilbur. It sickly saddens me to know that some of the greatest, most creative, even sweetest of personalities are blockaded by emotional burdening that only those of great strength could even first and foremost comprehend, but then go onto to tackle these fears in hopes of freeing their own self from the chains of conditioning as well as having the one thing we all strive for.. a community of love and support through friends, family.. Sybil wanted, no needed, a friend in truest form; non-judgmental, continually understanding and accepting, & unconditionally selfless. Her isolation and feelings of worthlessness she brought onto herself as a result of her disorder was the most devastating and tragic aspects of her story making me even more prone to writing a song on her behalf.. I still hope and pray to this day that Sybil truly did indeed find peace within her own state of mind and that through the help of her one friend and companion Dr. Wilbur broke through the barriers of her darkest depths of despair that by no means were any fair.. No one should ever feel they are not worth being a part of this existence, we are all hear living and breathing with so much more in meaning! Whether or not Sybil still is.. she should always be recognized for her own unique strength even if merely in her very own story. I could only hope that in this way I helped her own cause and character somehow be further recognized, Thank you Sybil & God bless…
