So, its Halloween. Meaning, somewhat more importantly, that NaNoWriMo starts up in a couple dozen hours. My plan for the last few weeks has been to work out what I can in advance, and then write out the dragonbook starting tomorrow. Now Im kinda rethinking that. The problem is that theres still a lot to work out. Just in the last couple weeks, a number of neat and potentially futureshaping things have been invented; jumping into writing something set forty-odd years in the future, when the future is in the process of changing by the hour, can get a bit tricky. I could probably just do it anyway. But Im not sure Im in the best mood for it right now. So, Ive got this backup plan—which Ive either had for twenty-odd years, or completely forgot about until I remembered it a few minutes ago: I might do something deeply in the Literary Nonsense Genre, derivative of an existing story from the middle of the nineteenth century. Hunter Stark might know what Im talking about, since I mentioned it as an idea over a decade ago; though, her reaction at the time was that it was a stupid idea. It probably is. Also, its probably easy and fun and potentially entertaining to others. So, I really might do it anyway. First, today, Id need to read through the novel from the nineteenth century again.
