So, its been a lil quiet on here and Im sure youre wondering what weve been up to. For starters Stephanie and Charissa are off to Muleshoe today to photograph the Copiah 12 and also to deliver some cough medicine for Georgia and Nugget. While they are there all 12 will get wormed, keep them in your prayers for the next 24-36hrs as this is always a stressful time for all involved while they are weak and have a heavy parasite load. We will have new pictures to share with you in the next day or so. Tomorrow 5 or 6 of us will be heading out on some of our horses available for adoption for an afternoon on the Natchez Trace. We try to expose the horses we have for adoption to everything imaginable, tomorrow it will be a trailer ride and an afternoon of riding the trails on the Natchez Trace. It should be a great time for volunteers to recharge their batteries and the horses to gain some much needed miles and experience. Finally, when we havent been busy with the Copiah 12 or the other 20+ horses in our care one of the things weve been working on is our GFAS certification. More information about GFAS can be found here sanctuaryfederation.org/gfas/about-gfas/. This will allow us to apply for some of the bigger grants ($4k and up) through companies like Petco, ASPCA etc. We had our inspection done a while back and there are only a few things we have left to do. We are in need of a handful of things: 1. Dorm size fridge to house equine meds separate from food and beverages. 2. 2 drawer filing cabinet for training records. 3. Metal or Wood Storage Cabinet similar in size to an armoire to store supplies. 4. 6 commercial size fire extinguishers. If you have any of these things hanging around your garage you no longer need let us know. Your donation is 100% tax deductible. If you know someone who might be able to help us aquire any of these items (specifically the fire extinguishers) let us know. Obtaining our certification and receiving these grants would make a huge difference in the number of horses we are able to help. Please feel free to share this. Yall make it happen whenever we ask, thanks in advance! - Sarah
