So, its looking like it may be agriculture that turned Europeans white. Interestingly enough, theres also a solid argument to be made that grain agriculture is the root of conqueror culture, hierarchic government and the police state. When you produce grain, and store it, somebody has guard the grain. Additionally, the methods conventionally used to cultivate grain destroy the soil, which means that periodically societies based on grain agriculture had to obtain new land, which in a populated area logically meant they had to take someone elses. So, police to guard the grain, soldiers to take the land of others, and someone to rule over them. Hunter-gatherer and horticultural cultures were typically much more egalitarian by contrast.
