So its official ... we have adopted an Irish Wolfhound! Meet beautiful Finley! His owner became too ill to care for Finley and decided to rehome him. She contacted Irish Wolfhound rescue, who contact us, and now here he is! Finley has done beautifully slowly settling in over the last 3 weeks with all the dogs and cats. He is about to turn 5 and weighs 135 lbs (soon to top out at 150, we hope!). Yes, we had to rearrange the living room to make room for his enormous bed, ha, but he is such a love and true gentle giant! He even lets the Chihuahuas boss him around. He gives the cats kisses. This pony-sized boy is simply wonderful and we are so lucky to add him to our family! Our biggest dog (prior to Finn), Jack the 64 lb Lab mix, can walk clear underneath Finley without even making contact, just for a visual as to how big this boy really is! Our Pit Bulls back doesnt even come up to his front elbow! Its absolutely awesome to have such a ginormous doggie to love ...
