So, just wanted to share my idea with my friends of ours and our sweet Rosie. I am in the midst of changing career paths and transferring from being an Medical Assistant/EMT-B to a Veterinary Technician. I will be completing my certification classes starting in November. With this said, my plans are to write a grant proposal for financial assistance to open a Respite (Emergency) Kennel. This proposal would give me 5-10 kennels (Canine Only) on our property to take in emergency situations when shelters and/or rescues are full or closed. It would allow me to be perform basic medical care, stabilization, and treatment for the animals brought into our care until a connection with a shelter or rescue opens for that animal. I am hoping to get this proposal written for financial help with kennel equipment, food, medical treatment/ equipment, and transport. If funding is unavailable for my cause, I will fund myself but seek donations as I provide services to homeless dogs. This organization will be called: Operation4Rosie My target start date will be Summer 2015. Any ideas or thoughts are welcome. Id love input on how I might be able to better my proposal, my cause, and if anyone would be interested in teaming up with me.
