So keeping in the theme of manners, my little Evy amazes me. The response of a child when we put something on a plate that they really dont want is usually something like, I dont want that or YUCK. Not Evy! Her response is, I dont prefer it. I LOVE IT!! What a great response. While we might just want her to be obedient and eat what was put on her plate, how can you argue with a response like that? But what about our obedience verses our preferences? Every believer must choose whether he or she will live by the principle of obedience or follow their preferences. When a person commits to doing the Lord’s will, then every situation and decision is sifted through the standard of “God said it, so I’m going to do it - and that’s the end of it.” We may complain, weep, or try to argue. But in the end we will be obedient, no matter what. I recall many years ago, I was looking for a job at RWC. I was making good money in the job where I was presently employed, and when I found out what this new job was paying - I preferred to stay at my old job and make what I thought was good money. But God had a plan and in the end, I was obedient to what God had in store for me and my family. We never went without and He has truly blessed us. Bottom line - our lives are about fulfilling God’s purpose. Many people miss His awesome plan for them because they choose to follow their preferences. Obedience is sometimes hard, but the struggle and sacrifice are worth it. There is joy and peace for the believer who pleases the Lord and lives by His principles. Im a living testimony of that. Please check out this song - its been really ringing in my heart recently. https://youtube/watch?v=2M1J0-kaLbM
