So last Saturday at The Bachata Social we had an Awesome time! In the beginning of the party a group of about 60 70 indians, came for a Birthday Party they had decided to do at the location. Out of a total of about 300 ppl, they had a big group! They really werent going crazy with Latin Music even though they were having their fun and dancing, so they come and ask me if I would play some indian music, my automatic reaction was Id love to but its a latin party, I saw the sad look on their faces... and as I always say, a DJ should play for the crowd ALWAYS not for themselves, and even though this was SO against genre... I did some research and play 2 or 3 songs for them thru the night. OMG, how they lit up!!, Amazing!!! It made me so happy to watch them!!! And the funny part, a lot of bachateros joined in and had fun too! and the BEST part? I got no complains for the Bachateros for the little bollywood breaks. My point? my point is that DJs always should play for the crowd not for themselves. If you ever find a DJ that says I dont take requests that guy doesnt deserve nor supporting nor a following. And let me tell you, If youre one of these DJs that go around saying and posting proudly I dont take requests you wont be seen at any of my events anytime soon :) PS: That doesnt mean playing Shakira at a Salsa Party. There are limits
