So last night I made the decision to buy tickets to the Hillsboro - TopicsExpress

So last night I made the decision to buy tickets to the Hillsboro vs. Stephenville game. We parked on the visitors side (because Hillsboro brought 12 fans and a marching band)....but after freezing our butts off facing the wind we ventured over to the home side. The game was a route (63-0). Half the time I wondered if Hillsboros backs knew where they were on the field before they got planted....never mind they had the bizarre idea that running a QB sneak or draw play on 3rd and 10 (or 4th and 10) would actually work. But the game was not what caught my attention.... Sitting over by the band I noticed how involved Mr Childs was with getting people into the game...not just the marching band or stings, but the student section as well. He was comedic, at times irreverent and the whole time kept the kids focused on what they were supposed to do. This is not the same guy I remember from high school. The most important thing was that the band enjoyed it, and was having a great time and so was everyone around them. True, the band looks like its about half the size it was when I was in it, but for a band that size, they looked and sounded good. Unfortunately (as is always the case in Stephenville), the can fans interrupted the tail end of the performance. Other than the end it was a wonderful experience, and I was very impressed with Mr. Childs direction as well as his band. I will have to do this more often.
