So last night I was on my way home from the movie and got stuck in a major traffic jam. There were ambulances and fire trucks and policemen and tow trucks howling down around us and it was pretty clear that there was a major accident ahead. After about a half hour I put my car in park and rolled down the windows cuz it was evident that we were gonna be there for awhile. When I did so, I heard other people complaining, this is ridiculous, come on already, honking their horns, yelling obscenities, and it infuriated me. One mile, maybe two miles down the road, it was extremely possible and very likely that people had just died. Peoples whole entire lives were just shattered, not just those involved in the accident but every person whose lives they touched, all of their loved ones just experienced immediate catastrophic events that will forever change their world, and people are upset because they are gonna get home late? We all get to go home and sleep with a reasonable belief that everyone we love are safe, what difference does it make if youre gonna get home at 12:00 or 12:30? Have some perspective and patience the next time things dont go your way. I am appalled at most of the human race right now, and sending prayers for everyone involved in the accidents impact in any way.
