So last night my boyfriend and I were snuggled in bed. Sorry, its cold here and that isnt the creepy part. We were just falling asleep when we both heard a door in the house open. He looked at me in the glow of the night light and I looked at him. He mouthed Did you hear that and I nodded to him. He crept quietly from the bed and reached for one of the decorative knives on his dresser. Slowly he tiptoed to the bedroom door and looked down the hall. I was so afraid we had forgotten to lock the front door and someone was breaking in. I grabbed the screwdriver from the nightstand. Yes, screwdriver. Dont ask why such weird things are on my nightstand! We might have had some invader in our house! Sheesh! He flipped the light on and stared down the hallway to the front door. It was closed. I shook my head. I know I had heard a door open. I hadnt fallen to sleep fully, plus Im paranoid about doors opening thanks to an ex. So we walked down the hall and checked the front door. Locked and deadbolted. But the door opened, I know I heard it! Im not crazy, I said. I even checked the cars outside to make sure no one had broken into them (it wouldnt be the first time in this neighborhood). I came back in and relocked the door. My boyfriend reached out a hand and led me back to bed. Oh, stop those thoughts. Its 3:30 in the morning and we work in the morning. Sheesh! Anyways, as we walked back to the bedroom I looked to my right and saw the bathroom door ajar! Aha! I knew I heard something! The heating air flow popped it open. Except the air was turned off for the night. So what opened the door? Now Im scared. My (brave) boyfriend peeked in and turned the light on. Nothing in there. The house was empty. So was it a ghost? Oh no! Im so not dealing with ghosts. Just then, my cat popped his head out from the sink cabinet and crawled from his hiding place. Seriously, who needs creepypastas when you have creepy pets and an unbridled imagination?
