So.... last night the kydex press decided to go runaway turned a peice of kydex into a bubbly mess... Turning it off didnt help.. For those of you who arent interested in the technical details.. its fixed... for those that are.. read on. Apparently the on off switch only removed power from the temperature controller. The Solid State relay that the temp controller switches on and off to control the heater is wired directly to the mains via a circuit breaker. It failed in the on position. Thus temp went over 500. Living in the middle of nowhere has its good points... But there arent any places to walk in and buy a 25amp SSR. So.. 5 hr roadtrip to jacksonville and back... Grainger comes through. So.. now the power comes in through a 30a japanese switch, and the switch kills all power. The new SSR was made in japan by a group of rice eating electrical enginners, not folks 2 weeks removed from waterbuffalo operator. New ssr is on a heat sink pedastal. Spare on the shelf... Back to work.
