So last night things got eventful. I was up all night due to Pierce having a fever. It wasnt consistent so I monitored him all night. At around 6am it hit 101 so we decided we needed to take him to the ER. (Due to chemo and him having a port and central line, any temp greater than 100.4 is an ER visit.) We had the worst experience imaginable with the ER nurses and doctors here. After three hours we were finally transferred to the oncology floor. Pierce hasnt had a fever since weve been admitted but we are still having to do antibiotics to play it safe. His ANC is currently zero and we are waiting for him to receive a blood transfusion within the next hour. Hes been sleepy today and irritable but other than that hes doing well. We will be here until next weekend most likely. At this point, they will keep us until his stem cell harvest is completed. We arent sure when exactly that will take place since it is dependent on his count recovery, but most likely itll happen towards the end of next week. Once the harvest is done, he will have surgery asap to remove his central line. His port will stay in, of course. We also have been in contact with his oncologist in NY. They want us up there for his next set of scans, which looks like thatll be in two weeks around the 29th and 30th. They want us there because if there is any tissue left in his abdomen they plan to go in and remove it. As of now, we arent sure how long we will be in NY. It will all depend on what the scans show. If he ends up having surgery we will be there at least one week. This month has been crazy and the craziness only continues. Anxious to get these next steps taken care of so we can have a better idea of what his treatment plan will look like. I will keep you all posted as things progress and we hopefully start getting some answers. Thanks for all the love and prayers!
