So last night we got hit pretty good at the Steakhouse . . . crazy for a Monday . . with 3 servers . . the upside is I made good money for a Monday . . which is a blessing because I found out last Friday that there is no financial aid for the Phleb program Im trying to get into and its $2,200 . .first down payment is due two weeks before xmas. The program is also financial aid ineligible because its 4 credits shy . . but you cant just take an extra class to get the loans / grants or whatever. There is an aid program through Careerlinks that I was hoping could help . . after speaking to them I am eligible but all funds are on hold indefinitely . . because it makes more sense to keep me on unemployment and force me to work two jobs (because I took a better one but cant quit the first one or Im totally ineligible for unemployment and programs) than it does to help me get reeducated into a career where it is highly unlikely Ill be unemployed again. I love the small mindedness of the govt. Ive worked two jobs most of my life and never been unemployed . . and I am not going to give up now. Just waiting to see how my interview at Duquesne goes for admission into the spring nursing program to decide what to do . . . that and the small issue of securing $90,000 in student loans as an unemployed mailcarrier . . piece of cake right? Thank God I have back up plans for my back up . . .unfortunately my last resort plan of cashing in my savings and retirement if need be to get into school might come into play here . . . At least I believe in me enough to take the leap . . and thank God Ive have that little tiny cushion . . Feeling blessed and determined today!!!
