So....let me explain....Thursday, lunchtime, brought a phone call from a mama- to -be whose babe was a tardy sort.....some testing indicated he might need a jump start to get the party started.... 12 hours later he decided we best not wait and he was ushered to this world with love and fanfare..... Congrats E and J.....Welcome Preston....I have rarely met a babe more anticipated/celebrated than you. A lucky young man, indeed!!!..... Then....a mama who has touched my heart since I began my hospital- based career years ago.... reported that perhaps, she too, needed to coax a reluctant babe to cross the threshold. So the journey began...a gentle prodding....an encouragement....and finally, an eviction notice! All these efforts to add the 7th and final member to a beautiful blended family! Welcome Alexander.....Congrats to the entire K family..... most especially .... to my girl, Ryan! SOOOOO...when one hangs at the hospital there are often many opportunities to offer a helping hand....it is especially nice to help-out friends who have been there in your time of need.....and that is the rest of the story! .......52 hours later....I have attended a total of 9 births....only 2 of which were from the Sage-femme family! I hope to have repaid kindnesses and generated goodwill . This calling we have is a soulful one that is best answered to in the company of friends and those that share our passion. I am honored to have rubbed elbows with the best these past 2 days!
