So let me get this straight....the same culture that tells us that - TopicsExpress

So let me get this straight....the same culture that tells us that there are no differences in gender roles actually believes that a man shouldnt put his hands on a woman and that a woman can never agitate a man to the point of doing so? REALLY? Look, I am in NO WAY a advocate for violence against women. In fact, this post isnt even about that subject at all. I just want us to examine the blatant contradictions that we hold to as a culture. A few months ago, Terry Crews went on the View and said there are some things that only a father can give his children. He explained that there is a distinct difference in gender roles and how they play out in the family. As expected, women went crazy saying hes ignorant! A woman can do anything a man can do! He has such a old way of thinking. He needs to get with the times! Basically they said there is no difference between the genders. I saw a spot on the news the other day of a woman playing football in a all mens league and waving the flag of we are equal in every way possible. Ok.....cool. Now lets look at a few things. Chris Brown attacks Rhianna and EVERYBODY goes straight at his neck. And rightfully so. He deserved it! He shouldve controlled his anger and his actions much better than that. But a few weeks ago, Solange goes ape nuts on Jay Z in a elevator and instead of outrage and backlash, everybody laughed about it. What? Where was the people talking about how she needed to control herself? How come nobody called Jay Z a victim of assault? If there is no difference in gender roles, why wasnt the reaction the same? If they are equal, then a man should be able to square off with a woman toe to toe right? OF COURSE NOT! We all know that sounds foolish! If Jay went up side Solanges head in that elevator, he wouldve been done and we all know it. I just think It is a flat out hypocritical society that calls for equality in every single way amongst the genders, yet calls for a mans head when he abuses a woman because she is weaker than he is. Some of you may think this is extreme, but im just playing out this way of thinking to its logical conclusion. We cant have it both ways. We should either admit there is differences between men and women, and operate according to that. Or say there are no differences and treat both the same in everything. Let them square off toe to toe and may the best fighter win. I for one believes there is a difference in the 2 genders and that is totally fine. And in doing so, I will teach my boys to not go Chris Brown on a woman, and......I will also advise young ladies (because I dont have any daughters) to not go all Solange on a man. Everybody keep your hands to yourself and no one gets hurt
