So, let us take a quick walk down the lane of the Thomas family of ONE happenings. Let me rephrase that...quick and walk should NEVER appear in the same sentence when I am applying it to my life. I have been having such a good time that I forgot a I couldnt walk! First of all, I decided to visit my peer group at Spring Gardens Assisted Living Center a couple of weeks ago. I went loaded with the makings for a Birthday Party for whomever. Lets pretend it was for Lorraine Johnson, (okay, that wasnt pretend!) and Wanda Sandberg, and Fawn Pickett. The Birthday cake, pictured below, included wishes for all three iconic ladies whom I ADORE! Of course, bouquets of flowers for each and two extras in case we needed one for others...we did. The Spring Gardens Center is the LEXUS of Assisted Living Centers! Take my word for it...I know something about these things. The evening meal was superb! Talk about fine dining. The dining room has a gionic ( my own vocabulary) aquarium with colorful fish which could keep me entertained for hours, but WE needed to PARTY ON..... I took my three tiaras from yesteryear contests and each lady was crowned Queen For The Evening. ( No swimsuit division...I loathe those!) I dont know if these precious friends had as much fun as I did, but they seemed to enjoy the cake and picture posing time! Seriously, if I could afford it, I would SO move in there and be their dorm mate. Hysterical fun!! I have decided to hold these Birthday Gatherings more often out there! You have to be at the TOP of your game to keep up with THIS table of quick-witted, intelligent conversationalists! As the three of them left the table and held on to their heavy vases and leftover cake, I said, Oh, let me get you some help to get this stuff to your rooms! Fawn let me know, in NO uncertain terms, that would NOT be necessary! (Stop with yourselves! I thought to myself...I NEED help! As I was rolled out the front entrance after the party ended ( YES! We closed the joint down ). My arthritic joints were killing me; those three were fine! As I rolled past the entrance desk, the manager on duty handed me a sizable brochure and application for ADMISSION! I GET IT, already...I was the one person at the table who was the MOST qualified to take up residency! Life is GRAND. AND, INSANE. WOULDNT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!!
