So, lets break down my day so far, because its been a doozy, and why does Facebook exist except for one to make ones misery public: 1. My son chooses to celebrate his 8-month birthday by waking us at 01:30 after not doing this for months. 2. My work laptop bombs because Windows 7 is a steaming pile of sh*t. (Not really, but thats how I feel today...) Normal fix time: About 30 minutes to reload the software. Rods fix time: 1 FREAKING day, because our encryption software is complex and the brains of our IT department arent... Plus, Im in the queue of computers with similar malfunctions... 3. I have to go hat-in-hand to my most difficult client and beg for a deadline extension on a piece of work because said piece of work is trapped in limbo on my Windows-less PC. Hes skeptical because, lets face it. My computer bombed is just the new millenniums version of The dog ate my homework... 4. I found out that my data guys f*cked up and sent a corrupt file to a different client, the second one in a row. When called on it, they give exactly zero sh*ts because Its the compression, not our files. It goes without saying that they have deleted the backups of said files... 5. My phone mysteriously decides to stop transmitting my voice, probably because I complain too much. At this point I just seriously feel like I transmit some kind of aura that breaks technology... 6. My boss is in a bad mood about a completely different stuff-up at work that had nothing to do with me, but he still has zero sense of humour about points 1 through 5 above. I know were supposed to be thankful for our lot, but, Jeezulus Creezulus, unconditional gratitude was difficult today... But I do love my wife and my son without any limits, so there is always that...
