So lets just go directly to the end game... *EVERY* technology - TopicsExpress

So lets just go directly to the end game... *EVERY* technology we choose to learn is ultimately a dead-end, whether its in two years or two decades. Someone will always continue to use it, and you might always be able to get a job doing it, but the newest batch of cool kids wont be using it... theyll be using their choice of dead-end technology, and theyll be you a number of years down the road. Just accept the fact that youll have to learn various things over your working life, some will be productive longer than others, and ultimately your favorite tool will not be the popular choice any longer. Pick what you want to learn, when you want to learn it, and how long you want to be learning. Its your decision, not anyone elses, and the pros and cons of those choices are completely yours. Ultimately, I dont hear too many 80 year old people debating the merits of Java vs. C#, Exchange vs. Notes, or whether social is revolutionizing the way they interact with others in the workplace...
