So let’s get this straight. In 2010, LeBron James leaves Cleveland making the Cavs a lottery pick team. In a remarkable streak of luck, the Cavs end up securing the first pick of the Draft in the next 3 out of the 4 years after LeBron leaves, with one of the picks being used to draft superstar Kyrie Irving. Meanwhile LeBron joins a super team in Miami and leads the team to a very successful 4 years. But LeBron decides to return back home to Cleveland. In order to secure a good supporting cast for King James, the Cavs trade the remaining two #1 draft picks for Kevin Love. Can we say this is remarkable? Well given that the chances of the Cavs getting the #1 pick 3 out of those 4 years stood at .63% and that the team was able to get him another superstar with the same draft picks that were caused by his departure, yes. Yes, we can say that’s pretty remarkable. But there is something that’s even more remarkable With Paul George out for the Pacers for the year, with D-Rose returning after a 1.5 year absence, and with Kevin Durant set to miss a big portion of the year and probably unable to return to 100% form, the only opponent the Cavs should really have to worry about is their nightmarish foe: the San Antonio Spurs. The Cavs should be able to walk to the NBA Finals. But remarkably, the media is playing right into LeBrons camp’s hands and setting expectations for the Cavs really low. As if making the Conference championship would be some type of accomplishment! Are you kidding me!? With the team LeBron has now (again) anything less than a championship win this year and for years to come would be a pretty big failure. LeBron James has the reputation of being the best player in the world year in and year out (and he is) but with that should also come very high expectations year in and year out.
