So looking through old newspaper articles one in particular caught my eye. The article was written by Joseph Ryan on July 18, 2011 in the Chicago Tribune in reference to President Chris Getty appointing his father former mayor Ken Getty Sr. who was convicted on 21 counts of mail fraud, theft of government funds, and money laundering to the Lyons zoning board. Now in this article former mayor Getty told a local newspaper in 2004 that he would seek revenge on the political foes he blamed for the federal investigation into his brief tenure as mayor. I do hope that his son and current village president Chris Getty isnt in some way trying to exact his revenge by slashing the police department who for those of us who have lived in town for a while was and isnt one of Ken Gettys favorite group of people. This statement though has to make you wonder is Chris Getty doing all of this for his father???
