So many DJs who are (strangely) against training sometime say something like, I dont want to be a clone of the trainer, thinking that what theyll learn is to to copy who ever is teaching the class. This excerpt from my seminar (You Only Get) One Song explains the concept of talent development: Talent is something that is developed over time and is based on specific skill sets. Developing talent is about expressing yourself artistically – not imitating others – and is an ongoing process of achievement. The idea is to get better and better – fine-tuning learned skills until mastery is attained. It’s not arbitrary. It’s not something that you guess at. Talent consists of developing your unique abilities within a set of guidelines and conditions and rules. Training is about be you, amplified; talent improved; confidence enhanced; art originality achieved. Every Bride, Bridegroom, Mom, Dad, Celebrating Couple, or anyone who desires a professional at their important special events should hire only a trained professional. Only a trained professional will exhibit the skills necessary to make your event truly special. Hire an untrained amateur and youll get an amateur event. It would be like buying a Formula-1 race car (your event) and putting a student driver at the wheel. The car will NEVER achieve its full potential and the money spent to have a race car would be wasted. And THAT is why hiring a trained professional is worth paying a premium price to have. NEVER hire DJ/MC who is against training. Theres your sign.
