So many amateur writers, have always asked me, a fellow amateur, what keeps me going, if therere any secrets... My response has always been this: Forget about the tissue papers, carry an old newspaper to the toilet. Why? A good writer, must be a good reader. Read anything and everything, read whatever you grasp, read whatever passes before your eyes... read signs, sounds and structures. Read people, faces, bodies, toes... read! Read buildings, architecture, seas, rivers, sand... read even air! Carry an old newspaper to the toilet, read it, shit on it... then? Write them (the shit and the newspaper)!
