So many mixed emotions. Leaving a place you call home (sorry mom) - TopicsExpress

So many mixed emotions. Leaving a place you call home (sorry mom) is never an easy task, but apparently a necessity upon graduation. It is with a heavy heart that I say see you later to Fairfield U - because for some reason I dont feel like Im leaving forever, but rather moving temporarily. From giving me the most meaningful/memorable/challenging experiences, best of friends, greatest mentors and allowing me the opportunity to take on the ultimate internship as FUSA President, Fairfield has fostered my growth and development both as a leader and person. I am humbled by the unconditional love and care shown towards me on a consistent basis from the entire Fairfield community as well as the insurmountable number of people always willing to put down everything to lend a helping hand. Thank you - for making me a better person, allowing me to learn from my failures, challenge me to think differently, achieve success, but most importantly teaching me how to act in the face of change and adversity. My only hope is to one day return the favor. Once A Stag, Always A Stag is more than just a saying... its a community that lasts a lifetime! A couple shoutouts: 1. To my incredible mother, Elizabeth Long, who graduated with her MBA just yesterday. You truly deserve an honorary degree in family management for putting 6 kids through college without loans... oh, and yourself! Love you mom - so proud of all your accomplishments and thank you for pushing me to achieve morel! 2. Feeling like a proud brother watching Alex Cucchi take over the FUSA Presidency with an appetite for success and such eagerness to get the ball rolling. Fairfield U is in great hands with him in the drivers seat! 3. I would be nowhere without the mentors Ive been so lucky to have by my side for 4 years. With constructive criticism, big hearts and faith in my ability to do what is right, they allowed me to grow beyond the norm. Im sorry youll never get the countless hours back where I talked your ear off, but know it has meant the world to me and made me a better person!!! Michael J. Doody, Carolyn Rusiackas, Fred Kuo, James D Fitzpatrick, Elissa Carroll, Jocelyn Collen, Jessica Ruddy Yohuru Williams and many more.. Finally, Im sure all Fairfield grads are feeling this way...
