So many of us are constantly at odds with facebook, this social media artificial intelligence aggregator that is constantly mining our data and using advanced artificial intelligence technology to neurologically implant socio-physical/virtual behavioural patterns that work towards constructing a commercial cultural hegemon, or maybe even a new sort of feudalism where the users engaged in this interface are all the peasantry, despite their economic class, acting as passive spectators delivered information that is perceived as formidable and consequently unconsciously pushed into a form a cognitive labor where our activity is analyzed as data and builds huge profits for the support. But its hard to leave -- seeing so many friends in Palestine uploading these immensely violent images of what is happening on the streets there, taken from their phones, themselves acting as witnesses and independent social media reporters, things that the general public are not seeing and not being reported on AT ALL in the media, but is they are all experiencing -- its hard to leave this imperial platform when you know it really is going to be the only thing that keeps you immediately connected to all the events happening around you in an individual capacity that the news wont report... sorry for the rant im just in constant flux of whether I should leave or be a part of this and at the same time dont know how i can maintain the immediate connection to people who i care about without a social network that is becoming such a universal norm. hashtag rant
