So many of you already know and I was hesitant to share this on this page because of its mission statement but I feel its important to recognize the passing of a truly great women who has graced this valley for generations and has inspired countless women here in our valley and across the nation . Flora Belle Reece died this morning at UCLA after spending ninety plus years on this earth. In the photo below she is the second from the left at the dedication of the WASP monument at Lancaster Cemetery a couple years back . She made it her wish these last couple years to be laid to rest next to her Husband Ralph and her daughter who was tragically killed in a car versus train accident when she was a teenager going to school one morning in the sixties . She never let that get her down and she used that tragedy to build her faith in God and become the incredible loving Christian women she was always known for . Regardless of what you believe take a moment and think a good thought for a life well lived in the service of others ,the world is in short supply of Floras, may we hope for the young lives she touched that they take her inspiration and carry on her legacy .
