So many of you remember how good it felt to help a family out around Christmas or to put a smile on a child’s face who might otherwise receive nothing. We have a number of moms and families in Fayette County suffering day after day from fear and abuse of Domestic Violence. The Fayette County Council on Domestic Violence (aka: Promise Place) is an excellent “fire of kindness” providing safety for victims and their families. They depend on volunteers for such things as: non-perishable donations to their food pantry; or “Adopt a Room” where volunteers decorate a room at the shelter; or Kids Time at the Shelter providing activities while Mom takes classes; or “Moving Day” providing assistance moving families into safe housing; or staffing the Crisis Hotline.
